Here’s a concise review of the four main Madagascar films (DreamWorks Animation):

Many fans consider this the strongest in the series [18]. It’s just as witty and funny as the first, but some felt the story borrowed a bit too much from The Lion King Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012)

The first film is a classic culture-shock comedy. The zoo stars must learn to survive without "steak" and human care, while Alex struggles with his predatory instincts. They eventually meet King Julien XIII, a self-absorbed lemur whose "I Like to Move It" dance sequence became an instant pop-culture staple. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008)

The story begins at the Central Park Zoo, where Marty the zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo live in pampered captivity.

# Load pre-trained VGG16 model base_model = keras.applications.VGG16(weights='imagenet', include_top=False, input_shape=(224, 224, 3)) base_model.trainable = False # Freeze the base model

# New model model = Model(inputs=base_model.input, outputs=predictions)

The sequel picks up with the animals still stranded. Desperate to return to New York, they agree to the penguins' plan to fly them home in a repaired plane. Predictably, the flight goes awry, and they crash-land in the African savanna. Here, Alex is reunited with his parents, Zuba (Bernie Mac), the alpha lion of the pride, and his mother (Sherri Shepherd). However, this long-awaited family reunion comes with complications; Alex has forgotten how to act like a wild lion. Meanwhile, each of the other friends faces their own identity crisis. Marty, thrilled to be among hundreds of zebras, is dismayed to find he looks exactly like everyone else, Gloria finds a romantic suitor, and Melman finally confronts his feelings for her after being named the pride's "witch doctor". The plot thickens with the introduction of Makunga (Alec Baldwin), a ruthless lion scheming to usurp Zuba's place as king.

It is important to note that the fourth film was never released. However, its development history is relevant to the franchise analysis.
